Banning websites like Flickr, Hi5 and MySpace wasn’t enough for Arab Emirates. Okay, they’ve proceeded with banning Youtube. Now they’ve banned Orkut.com project.
Reasons? Casual “sexually explicit material and it’s being used for ‘immoral activities”.
Google-owned Orkut claims to be designed to reunite old friends, and help users keep in touch and meet new friends.
However recent reports have claimed that thousands of users in the UAE were joining sexually explicit communities which some say are plentiful on the website.
Blaming Google for the activity of UAE users. That’s nonsense..
