Chris Anderson from Wired Mag gives a great article covering some issues concerning environment of Lego Mindstorms robots using different programming languages.

For anyone who’s ever programmed, there’s nothing better for understanding logic than properly tabbed and commented code, all in a column of text as God intended. And for your kids, there’s no time like the present to introduce real , using coding conventions that will be as relevant in the decades to come as they were in decades past.

Simple and straight advantage of RobotC platform - coding in plain C, with well written Documentation on each function used for NXT’s. For the last month, RobotC upgraded from v1.05 to 1.10, so there are some improvements and updates from Carnegie Mellon University developers.

A great news is that for our projects on and Automation subject, we have switched from Studio to RobotC due to some reasons:

  • Lack of documentation on MRS (Professional MRS from Wrox will be published at the end of the year)
  • Missing some simulation sensors’ files for NXT (can’t test all the capacities of sensors without robot)
  • Not all of students run (but it can be managed via Wine)
  • Full access to encoders and sensors data in simple manner.

As more sensors are about to come in stock, I believe NXT will become one of the easiest ways of implementing concepts and algorithms for students.

So far, we have Android SDK at Code page and already some integration Plug-ins for Eclipse. An interface is nice and simple.CrunchGear also some videos on the architecture structure of Androids’ internals. How soon will iPhone X be replaced by , and will it be better then Mac mobile solution?..*/me will wait*

Finally, I’ve got time to fix this bug.

After upgrading my Internet Explorer 6 up to the seventh version, Add/Remove window in Control Panel wasn’t loading. After a bit of googling the problem was solved:

1.win+r, load “regedit32″
2.Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
3.SOFTWARE -> -> -> Uninstall
4.Find “ie7″ folder and in the right side menu look for for “Uninstall string” row
5.Follow the Uninstall string and extract .exe file which will handle uninstalling IE7.
6.Restart your PC.

After it, everything loads fine now. The only disadvantage - you’ve got your Internet Explorer 6 back :)

However, every time I surf through various popular sources, IT portals, and so forth, around 30% of the posts are just trolling on some outdated topics:

  • What’s the best Operating System?
  • What’s cooler: /Mac vs. Linux?
  • China/Russia is an evil country: about firewalls, rockets, nukes, and oil/democracy conflicts
  • Opera Browser is rubbish or why do you like Firefox so much? What about IE7?
  • vs. Open-Source: they buy, we sell. Who’s true open-source and who’s not?!

So far, that’s what came to my mind. If you got other trolling topics to add, be my guest!
